Grama Niladhari

The Grama Niladhari is the government officer responsible for a single village division. They issue and endorse the certificates most public services depend on — residence, character, income and family particulars — and they are the officer who verifies identity for everything from a mobile SIM to a land permit.

Each officer holds a public day at the division office. Bring your National Identity Card to any appointment.
