Entrepreneur Development
Committee Objectives
Six commitments that shape what the committee does and how its work is measured.
The committee meets monthly under the chairmanship of the Divisional Secretary. These objectives were adopted by the committee and are reviewed each year against what was actually delivered.
Identify and register every enterprise in the division
Maintain a complete, current register of businesses operating in Mallawapitiya so that support, training and finance can be directed accurately.
Connect entrepreneurs to state and private support
Act as the single point of contact between local businesses and the state agencies, banks and chambers that can fund and certify them.
Build skills through structured training
Run regular training in production technique, costing, packaging, quality standards and digital marketing, delivered with partner institutes.
Open market access beyond the division
Prepare producers for district, national and export markets through trade fairs, buyer introductions and export readiness assessment.
Support women and youth enterprise
Prioritise programmes that bring women and young people in the division into self-employment and formal business ownership.
Report progress transparently
Publish the committee's activities, membership and outcomes so that residents can see how public resources are being used.
